I almost arrived to late for the Sunrise Buena Vista Colorado time-lapse video, but I was able to get some great video anyway.
I set up on the east side of Buena Vista, and pointed my cameras to the West to capture the Rocky Mountains lighting up from the sunrise in the East.
I was able capture nearly 2 hours of time-lapse video that ends up being about 7 minutes long, but I shortened it to just over 2 minutes.
Here are more photos of what you will see in the video above.
This entire valley from Salida, through Buena Vista on up to Leadville is absolutely gorgeous and worth the drive if you ever visit Colorado.
The video was taken with my GoPro Hero 8 Black.

These pictures are completely mind-blowing and stunning. You have an amazing eye for taking such enchanting imagery not to mention the fact that you spent about 2 hours of video footage with time lapse just to shorten it out to 2 minutes; you are really patient. I love your work and creativity. For me, my favorite way to watch the sunset is from my grandmas balcony; especially on summer days when the sky turns a pretty color combination of pink, purple and orange.
Patience is the key, but honestly, I love having a reason to go and view the Colorado scenery any time I get a chance. Creating these videos helps me do that. There are a few challenges though. First, deciding what will be my next location (due to the nearly endless possibilities), and second, dodging the snow storms in the winter. There is a storm coming in two days from now, So I am heading out for a sunrise shot and sunset shot in the same day. I can do the video editing from the warmth of my home during the snow storm.
Thank you for sharing about your favorite sunsets at your Grandma’s place. It’s amazing how different the colors are depending on where you are in the world.
